Dorothy Sumption Joins XRC Labs as Partner

Sumption Leverages 20 Years of Investor Relations and Business Development Experience to Lead XRC’s New Fund Strategy

New York, NY – January 25, 2022 – Today, XRC Labs, an NYC-based venture capital firm and startup accelerator focused on retail technology, consumer brands, and consumerized healthcare, announces Dorothy Sumption as a new partner. In addition to its ongoing cohort program, XRC has launched a Brand Capital Fund for direct-to-consumer brand investing and an Opportunity Fund for capabilities. Dorothy will lead investor relations across this expanded portfolio of funds.

Prior to joining XRC, Dorothy spent 20 years in investor relations and business development within the institutional asset management industry, most recently as a Director of Investor Relations at Bain Capital Credit, where she helped grow the firm's assets under management (AUM) to over $50B. During her 11 years with Bain Capital, she held numerous roles, helping to build the firm's Family Office platform and collaborating on the Bain Capital Insurance launch in 2021. Previously, she worked in investor relations at Halcyon Asset Management and as analyst in Credit Suisse's Private Fund Group, where she raised capital for third party hedge funds. She began her career at PIMCO Advisors as a marketing writer. Dorothy received her A.B. from Princeton University and holds a CAIA designation.
