William is a consultant, strategist, and CEO at Root Communications, a boutique PR agency based in New York City. The agency focuses on helping high-growth technology companies from the US and Asia-Pacific region fully leverage the North American and global media market to reach their business goals.
William began his communications work in Argentina as a liason to US and EU academia and media with a design/build lab working to create affordable housing at Universidad de Buenos Aires. Upon returning to the US, William joined TapIt, a national campaign to promote tap water. At TapIt, William ran community relations campaigns in coordination with municipal utilities and government agencies aroudn the US, from San Francisco to Washington DC.
Since then, he has taken his experience crafting communications strategy and building relationships with media organizations to help numerous technology firms, investors and accelerators, both in-house and on the agency side, to help build their brands. In 2016, Root Communications began partnering with VCs and accelerators in China and South Korea to help bring promising consumer hardware and enterprise SaaS to the US market.
William's PR work focuses on cross-border communications strategy, launching new brands to markets, and raising the profile of foreign brands. This work includes strategic communications planning, media relations, content development and influencer relations.
William is an advisor at Cornell-Tech (Cornell's New York campus on Roosevelt Island), global marketing partner with Born2Global (part of the Ministry of Science of South Korea), and a mentor for China Chinaccelerator in Shanghai. He spends his time between New York City and APAC.
