Matt Kaden brings nearly 20 years of executive and strategic advisory expertise in the fashion and retail industries as a Managing Director at MMG Advisors, a boutique investment banking and strategic advisory firm servicing fashion and retail. Matt - like all of MMG's senior partners and principals - spent the first part of his career in the industry as an executive at Macy's, Kellwood and Jonessome, some of the world's largest retailers and brands. His experience in finance, strategy and planning provides him with first-hand perspective essential to critically thinking about and planning for the strategic development needs of MMG clients. He is particularly well-versed in helping firms navigate through the confluence of fashion and technology, especially digital commerce.
Prior to joining MMG, Matt co-founded Matter Strategic Advisors, which focused on helping companies strategically plan for business growth or exit. At Matter, he facilitated strategic partnerships, including M&A, joint ventures and creative licensing to solve complex business challenges for his clients. It was during this time that he forged a strong working partnership with MMG. Matt began his career at Macy's esteemed Executive Training Program. After Macy's, he joined Kellwood Company, where he held roles in finance. He then joined the Jones Apparel Group, where he worked in planning. After completing his MBA, Matt joined Avalon Net Worth as a Director, where he advised consumer product companies primarily on sell-side M&A, strategic partnerships and licensing transactions.
Matt is a member of The Expert Network of the New York Fashion Tech Lab and a mentor for both XRC Labs and Trendseeder. Matt has been published in WWD's Think Tank and is featured on the Fashion is Your Business Podcast.
