Francis Bitonti is an award-winning computational designer acclaimed for groundbreaking use of generative design of 3D printed products.
Francis is known for Dita Von Teese's 3D printed dress and Mutatio, 3D printed shoes for United Nude, which were featured in Wired, The NY Times and The Wall Street Journal. His pieces are featured in the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, to name a few. He was also named a 2015 Wired Innovation Fellow.
In 2017, Francis co-founded LexSet AI with Leslie Oliver Karpas. LexSet is a fully integratable B2B API solution for furniture and home retailers using AR/AI. LexSet provides AI-powered object recognition, spacial research, product assembly assistance and automated surface tiling to online consumers.
Born and raised in New York, Francis holds a Master of Architecture from Pratt Institute. He is also the founder of Studio Bitonti.
Leslie Oliver Karpas
Leslie Oliver Karpas is a serial entrepreneur in 3D technology. He invented manufacturing processes for Turner Award-winning artist Anish Kappor, as well as methods for 3D printing medical grade silicone as founder of the medical devices company Metamason.
