Alex Richardson is a Global Digital Business Builder and Direct to Consumer Strategist with a distinguished career with multiple global brands. Alex also grew a startup into a multi-million dollar business, which was acquired by NCR Corporation.
Currently, Alex is Chief Operating Officer of Kidbox.Com Inc. in New York City. Kidbox is the first kids' personalized style box that provides parents with a convenient way to dress kids in cool brands at significant savings - all while bonding over the joys of getting and giving new clothes. For every full Kidbox purchased, a new clothing item is given to a child in need through a charity of your choice. Our goal: To distribute new clothes to over one million children in need.
Prior to Kidbox, Alex was Vice President, Global Business Developement at Tory Burch, where he grew ecommerce sales from $14 million to $240 million in four years. He also created and managed the new digital studio operations including photography, video, fashion shows and global events.
Prior to Tory Burch, Alex worked on many pioneering digital innovations at Polo Ralph Lauren, including the first interactive store windows, the first RL mobile app, the first retailer QR code app and many other innovations that received worldwide press.
After receiving an MBA from Yale University, Alex founded Netkey, a leading retail software and digital signage firm, which was acquired by NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR).
Alex's teams have won over 20 awards including: 4th Screen Gold Award, Top 100 InfoWorld Magazine Award for Technology, Deloitte Fast 50, Frost and Sullivan's Market Engineering Award, the Top 100 Multimedia Producer Award, and has been featured in dozens of industry journals as well as in The Wall Street Journal. Alex is also co-holder of two US patents and is a Trustee of the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts (Unversity of New Haven) and is the former Senior Technology Advisor to Special Olympics Worldwide (Washington DC).
